Expectations Of Your Dog Boarding KennelsThere is a family who will remain nameless who are setting themselves up for difficulties if they should ever have to put their pet into dog boarding kennels. Although they know, in theory that their dog is just an animal they hate for it to be upset, just as they hate for their children to be upset. This dog has the owners running round after her on her timetable for feeding, being petted and walked. If one looks at dog boarding kennels objectively what we tend to see in this country is a cage of varying sizes, with or without a run and usually with a concrete floor, and often concrete walls and even raised beds made of concrete. Some look very like prisons without much comfort at all. This can come as a shock for someone who has treated their dog as a surrogate child. In fact in this case the dog is treated even worse than a surrogate child as most people realize that they have to allow their child to face the realities of life: that they cannot shelter their child forever and there are some things that just have to be done even if they don’t want to do it. Dogs have to realise this as well. There are times when they just may have to be left. You will, of course, want to find a place which will be satisfactory for your dog. However dogs are not so much concerned about concrete floors and bars and netting separating them from other dogs than they are about getting enough exercise and socialising. Each dog boarding kennel has its own regime for exercising your pet. Remember also that what is right for your dog will depend on its size, its type and its personality. A small private run of five metres by three metres with their patch of grass may be excellent for the little dog, but totally unsatisfactory for a large dog who needs an acre to run in. The large dog would entertain himself by digging up the grass and seeing how fast he could make the biggest hole possible. Such large dogs need to be kept on concrete pads for the sanity of the kennel owners and their property. These dogs usually have set hours for exercise. The important issue is for the owner to be comfortable and happy to leave their pets in the accommodation they pay for. It is a good idea if you choose some dog boarding kennels in preparation for the future. You never know if you might have to leave your pet because of family illness or accident and if you have checked the place out in advance you can be secure about leaving them there.
